Gerald Mounce

Mr. Gerald C. Mounce, 86, died January 5, 2010 at Hospice Ministries. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Star Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Star Cemetery.\ \ Mr. Mounce, a member and deacon of Star Baptist Church was a retired Tool and Die Maker. He loved hunting, fishing, bowling, camping and gardening. \ \ He is preceded in death by his wife, Merle Mounce. He leaves behind two sons: Jerry\ (Trish) Mounce of Conway, AR, Martin (Joy) Mounce of Baker, FL.; daughters: Linda Jo (Bobby)Hammack of Byram, Anita (Gilbert) Harthcock of Braxton, Ruth (DeWayne) Polk of Florence; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.\ \ We wish to extend our thanks to the doctors and nurses at the VA Hospital-4C South, for your care and concerns. Also to the nurses and staff at Pleasant Hills Nursing Home, thanks for being special friends to our Dad. Joseph and Sheriff, thanks for helping take care of him.\
