Gerald Peters

Gerald McHugh Peters passed away at his home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday February 1, 2011. While holding fast to his faith, during many years of physical and mental infirmities, he has been set free from the limitations of his earthly vessel. He was only 53 years old. Memorial will be held at the Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. \ Mr. Peters was co-founder of Common Bond Association, Inc. and spent many years working with the homeless and indigent seeking a sober life. Gerald dedicated his life to using his recovery to do God's will, and to benefit others. He will forever be remembered for his efforts to lead others to Christ, and to lives of peace and serenity. \ Mr. Peters is survived by his wife Rebecca Ponthieux Peters, his two step daughters Kammi Teasley and Sara VanVeckhoven, his step son Nathan VanVeckhoven. His step grandson Ethan Adams. His Sisters Pattie Peters of Saltillo, MS, Sharron Peters of Durham, NC, two brothers, John Peters of Saltillo, MS, and Jeffery Peters of Carthage, MS, and several nieces and nephews.
