Sixty-four years ago on February 17, 1944, Van and Ruby Smith were blessed with a beautiful baby boy, Gerald Max Smith and Gerald began his earthly journey. On May 30, 2008, his spirit was transferred from this life to the sunny banks of sweet deliverance.\

Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 1 p.m. a homegoing service will be held at Jesus Name Tabernacle. Visitation will be Monday, June 2 from 5-8 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and Tuesday, June 3, 12 noon until services at the church. His earthly vessel will be placed in Jesus Name Tabernacle Cemetery. On that resurrection morning his new body will join that spirit and forever be with the Lord.\
