Mrs. Gertrude "Granny" Pittman Murray

Gertrude “Granny” Murray, 92, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Magee, MS. There will be a memorial service at a later date. Granny loved farming, growing flowers, and picking cotton with her mother. She was always helping others whether that meant cooking, raising children or caring for others. She never met a stranger and had unconditional love for all. Granny was the last of 8 siblings and preceded them all and well as two husbands. She is survived by her son, Jacob (Tammy) Pittman of Florence, MS and their children Matt (Nikki) Pittman who were her all her caregivers for many years and Mashawna Pittman and her four children; and daughter, Sarah Faye Nichols of Pace, FL; 38 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; and one great grandbaby on the way that she was very excited about, Lynleigh Brooks Pittman.
