Mrs. Gina Marie Vaughn

LaGina “Gina” Marie Ratliff Vaughn, 52, ran into the arms of Jesus Tuesday, January 29, 2019. She passed away at UMMC in Jackson surrounded by her family, friends, and community. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Florence on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Gina was a devoted follower of Christ and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Florence where she volunteered with VBS each year, went on mission trips, and helped with any and all youth events. She loved her family and was so proud of her children. Gina was extremely active in her community of Florence. She served on the PTO at every school her children attended and could be found every Friday night under the stadium lights cheering on her son and the Florence Eagles. She had a servant’s heart. She volunteered with numerous sports teams and coached upward basketball. Gina was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Jeff Vaughn of Florence; son, Ian Vaughn and daughter, Anna Marie Vaughn both of Florence; parents, Jimmy and Eva Ratliff of Hattiesburg; sisters, Martha (Scooter) Cochran of Hattiesburg and Lee Burger; nephews, Jimmy and Jason Burger; and numerous extended family members and a host of friends who will miss her dearly. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Florence Food Pantry or Diamerizo Ministry in Gina’s memory.
