Ms. Glenda Sue Vaughn

Glenda Sue Vaughn, 69, went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation will be 1:00pm until the 2:00pm funeral service Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Alta Woods Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. Ms. Vaughn was born in Jackson, MS to the late James Whitfield Alford, Sr. and Abbie Ramage Alford. She was an administrative assistance with the MS Department of Mental Health and a faithful member of Alta Woods Baptist Church. Glenda was an active choir member, Treasurer for her Sunday school class and participated in the outreach program. She was a sitter for the younger children at church and at their homes---she loved and adored children all of her life. Survivors include her son John Phillip Vaughn, Sr. (Jennifer) of Hanover, VA; brother James W. Alford, Jr. (Lynn); she was “Grammy” to her grandchildren, Jack, Zoe, Jayden and Mikayla, who were the joy of her life.
