Glenn Roy Myers, 91, passed away at his home Monday, June 21, 2021. Glenn was born in Star, Mississippi on April 21, 1930 to Vernon Samuel and Irene Case Myers. He was married to Betty Joan Means for sixty-four years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Glenn was an oilfield welder for over forty years and finally quit climbing rigs at the age of 70. The biggest part of his career was spent working with Helmerich & Payne Drilling Company. He could design, build, weld and fix anything for anyone. He was a long-time member of the Church of Christ. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and five brothers, Homer, Freddie, W.L. (Ranzy), Jimmie, and Sammie Myers. He is survived by sons Kenneth H. (Donna) Myers and David R. (Connie) Myers, both of Star, Shannon C. (Nancy) Myers of Harrisville, daughters Glenna Kay Dilmore and Glenda Fay (Ben) White, both of Star. Twelve grandchildren, Jason Dilmore, Melissa Dilmore (Chad) Grantham, Amanda Myers, Rebecca Myers (Rusty) Teague, Kendall Myers, Aleisha Kelley (Casey) Hughes, Shayne (Serena) Kelley, Kaitlyn Myers, Grace Myers, Jackson Myers, Kary (Kristina) White, Kacy White. Nine great grandchildren, Dalton Grantham, Amy Grantham, Wesley Teague, Jase Myers, Walker Teague, Brayden Gordon, Jake Gordon, Charley Kate Gordon, Caden Hughes and two sisters, Betty Butler and Sylvia (Virgil) Parrish. The family would like to thank Dr. Murphy Martin for the years of care for our daddy. We would also like to send special thanks to the nurses and staff at Fresenius Kidney Care of Brandon for taking such special care of our daddy for the five and half years. A Graveside service Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 2:30 pm at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS. Visitation will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence on Wednesday beginning at noon.
