Gloria Jean “Cookie” Leach of Jackson, MS, passed away on July 27th, 2014. She was 67 years old Funeral services are 2pm Thursday, July 31st, 2014 at Lakeside Baptist Church, Negreet, La., visitation is 6pm-9pm Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the church. Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many, La. will be handling the services. Cookie was born in Many, La on September 2, 1946. She graduated as valedictorian from Pisgah High School in Many, La. Cookie was married to Coleman Dean Leach on March 4th, 1966; they were married 48 years. Cookie worked in several different fields throughout her career but is mostly known for her time as owner of Kiddie Korner Early Learning Center, in Alexandria, La. and also for her time as Activities Director of Pleasant Hills Nursing Home in Jackson, Ms. Cookie is survived by her husband Coleman Dean Leach of Jackson, Ms, her sons Michael Dean Leach (Vanda) of Byram, Ms.; Jason Bradley Leach of Jackson, Ms.; Matthew Coleman Leach(Jennifer) of Flowood, Ms.; her sister Janet Dowden (Glenn) of Negreet, La.; her brother Derrell Cook of Byram, Ms.; and her grandchildren; Fisher Dean Leach of Byram, Ms and one grandchild due in January of 2015. As well as a host nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends Cookie is preceded in death by her mother Lovie Mae Cook and her father Arthur Dale Cook. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Gideons International to help spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through his Holy Word.
