Gullick Bowen loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend went to be with his Lord on March 26, 2014, at 90 years of age. Visitation for Gullick, 2-5pm at Chancellor Funeral Home, Byram on Sunday, March 30. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 31, 2pm at Country Woods Baptist Church, Byram, with a one hour visitation prior to service time at the church. Jon Daniels will officiate. Born in Arkansas, he lived his early years in Louisiana. Gullick served his country by entering the US Army at age 18 in the 36th Infantry during World War II. He received numerous medals including the Bronze Star. In 2013 he was bestowed the title of Knight and presented the French Legion of Honor medal for his service to France during the war. After service he returned to Jackson. His brother, LK, introduced him to the love of his life, Nina Jean Williams, sixty-eight years ago. He was a long time resident of Jackson before moving to Byram. Known for his love of God, family, country and outdoors. He was loved for his honesty and charming, mischievous personality. Preceded by parents, Ross Earl and Frankie Cross Bowen, siblings, Dorothy Fynn, Aaron and Garthie Bowen. Survivors include wife, Jean Bowen, brothers, LK and Archie, sons, Kent Bowen (Beverly), Gary Bowen (Shirley), Alan Bowen (MiAe), 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.
