Guy H. Ballard, III

Guy Henry Ballard, age 81, passed away October 22, 2022 at his home in Terry, MS.  Guy was born November 12, 1940, in Vicksburg, MS.  Guy is survived by his son Steve Ballard, grandson Stevie Ballard, and daughter-in-law, Wanda Ballard.  Preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Metcalf Ballard.

Guy grew up in Vicksburg, MS where he graduated from St. Aloysius High School.  After graduation he attended University of Mississippi.  Guy was a Vietnam veteran that served as a Morse Code Radio Operator.

He spent the majority of his career as a dispatcher in the trucking industry and retiring in 2005.  Guy was an avid HAM Radio Operator with the call sign KJ5YY, and enjoyed communicating with other operators locally and internationally.  He spent many years as a member of the Four Seasons Hunting Club in Port Gibson, MS and acquired many lifelong friends there.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2002, at 11:00 AM at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS with Dr. Mark Strum officiating. The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Palestine Cemetery in Raymond, MS.
