Haskel Delone Hood

Haskel Delone Hood, Sr. passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022 in Ridgeland, MS at 74 years old. Visitation will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery in Terry, MS.

H.D. Hood was born in Monroe County, MS on November 24, 1947 to Simmie Andrew Hood and Dollie Norris Hood. He was employed as a transport operator and also enjoyed selling for Amsoil. H.D. loved buying, selling, and trading, along with all the bargaining that went with it. One of his favorite hobbies was going to the car dealerships to bargain with the car salesmen. Everything he owned still had a price tag on it. H.D. had a servant’s heart and would help anyone in need. He was a member of Siwell Rd. Church of Christ in Jackson, MS.

H.D. was preceded in death by his wife Lydia Lee Hood; brothers, Euthal, Euell, and Lee Hood; and sister, Rebel Riddle.

He is survived by son, H.D. Hood, Jr. (Charlotte) of Florence; daughter, Andrea Faye Hood; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
