Haskel Delone Hood, Jr.

Haskel Delone Hood, Jr., 55, went to be with his Lord, Sunday January 1, 2023, at his residence in Florence. The family will receive friends Tuesday January 3, 2023, from 5-8 pm and Wednesday January 4, 2023, from 10 am until the 11 AM funeral Service all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories in Florence.

H.D. was born February 12, 1967, in Haleyville, Alabama to Haskel and Faye Nell Hood. He lived most of his life in Florence and attended Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon, MS. He was a professional transporter for 35 years. He loved to tinker and to work on all kinds of things. He is described as gentle, a big Teddy Bear that love helping people even if he didn’t know them.

 He is preceded in death by his parent, Haskell Hood Sr., in 2022, his mother Faye Nell Hood in 2020 and his stepmother in 2021. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 38 years, Charlotte Hood of Florence; daughters Elizabeth (Jonathan) Houston of Madison, AL, Kristy (Shaun) McBride of Florence, MS; grandchildren, Alex, Etan and Brendyen Buffington, Dalton, Layla and Alyssa Houston, Jonathan, Peyton, and Brice McBride; sister Andrea Hood; niece Savannah Hood; brother-in-law Mike Stringer and sister-in-law Patricia Stringer.
