Helen Marie Green, 84, of Florence, MS passed away October 28, 2012 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. She was born February 25, 1928 in Scott Co., MS and attended Central High School in Jackson, MS and graduated from Forkville High School in Scott Co. \ She was preceded in death by her parents Johnnie Ford McDonald and Lucille Kitchings McDonald and her brother Johnnie Sanders McDonald, all of Florence, MS.\ Marie is survived by her faithful husband of 68 years, Harold Lloyd Green, of Florence, MS; daughter Laura Helen Green Ferguson (Marc) of Winston, GA; and son, Donald Lloyd Green (Janet) of Florence, MS. \ Grandchildren are Jacquelyn Marie Ferguson Nebergall (Paul) of Douglasville, GA; John Lloyd Green and Susan Adelia Green of Florence, MS. Her life was also blessed with numerous nieces and nephews.\ Marie was a member of First Baptist Church of Florence, MS since 1959, having lived previously in Kansas City, MO, West Monroe, LA, Midland, T X, and San Bernadino, CA. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Chapter in Richland, MS. \ Proverbs 31 identifies a godly woman as one who practices industry, responsibility, and diligence. Marie Green modeled this Biblical example of womanhood for her family, friends, and community as she faithfully served her family and her Lord with love, joy, and grace. She served in Vacation Bible School, Sunny Seniors, Senior Adult Choir, and as President of the Woman's Missionary Union. She held recognition for 30 years of perfect attendance in Sunday School. Her legacy is deep and her impact far-reaching.\ Visitation will be Tuesday, October 30, 2012 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Florence, MS and Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church, Florence with the funeral following at 11:00 am. in the church sanctuary. Interment will be at Florence Cemetery. \ Chancellor Funeral Home of Florence will handle final arrangements. \ The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions through First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 97, Florence, MS 39073 or the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, P. O. Box 6767, Richmond, VA 23230-6767.\
