Helen Powers fought a good fight, she kept the faith, and she finished the course leaving this world on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, she is now rejoicing with her Lord and Savior. If you ever met Helen, it wouldn't be long in conversation before she asked "do you know the Lord?" Second to her love for God was her love of family, especially all of her grand children and great grandchildren. Never one to take the limelight, she was still a ray of light bringing help and hope to those she met. No one was ever unimportant to her. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends who loved her dearly, but as Helen would say "that's that". \ \ She retired from the Mansfield City Schools and attended the Church of God in Prophecy in Mansfield and Jackson, MS and Belmont Community Baptist Church in Mansfield.\ \ She is survived by her children, Richard "Dick" (Susan) Baker of Lexington, Dale (Pat) Powers of Mansfield, Roger (Sandy) Powers of Lexington, Cindy (Louie) Moore of Jackson, MS, Howard "JR" (Regina) Powers of Mansfield and Becky (Keith) Montgomery of Cleveland, TN; grandchildren, Dustin Powers, Donovan (Erica) Powers, Rachel Baker Wymer, Kevin Baker, Jeremy (Tria) Montgomery, Niki Kenner, Kyle Montgomery, Beth (Justin) Douglas, Lisa (Rob) Barker and Michelle Kuhn; great grandchildren, Aubrey Wymer, Casey Baker, Isaiah Powers, Nissi Powers, Keagan Powers, Addison Powers, Arissa Kenner, Jakson Douglas, Bailey Douglas and Journey Barker; a sister, Agnes Klopfenstein; a brother-in-law, Harold Dean (Shirley) Powers; and many nieces, nephews and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Viola Yonkovski; her husband, Howard Powers; brother, Joseph Yonkovski; sisters, Stella Kuminsarek, Viola Lavengood, Mae Lane, Eileen Frazier and Kathleen Clifton; and a sister-in-law, Helen Rauzi.\ \ Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 12, 2012 at the funeral home conducted by her son-in-law, Pastor Louie Moore. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. \
