Hilda Jean Slay

Hilda Jean Slay,80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, December 12, 2010 after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be from 5pm until 8pm Tuesday at Chancellor funeral Home in Byram. The funeral service will be held at 11am, Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram with a one hour visitation prior to the service. Reverends Billy Causey and Dr. Mark Strum will officiate, with burial following at the Caldwell Cemetery in Freeny.\ \ She will be most remembered as a beloved mother, a cherished grandmother and great grandmother, who devoted her life to her family.\ \ Jean was raised in Carthage, and lived in the Terry area for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother and a sister.\ \ She is survived by her loving husband of sixty years, Rodney Slay, daughters, Linda Baldwin and Brenda McMillan; grandchildren, Amy Reeves, Aby Foltz, David Lee McMillan, Bradley McMillan, and Ryan McMillan; great grandchildren, Amelia and Jordan Reeves and sister, Weneva Mabry.\ \ She was a member of First Baptist Church in Raymond and is now in the loving arms of her Father in Heaven. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.\ \
