Mr. H.L. "Jack" Barnett

H.L "Jack" Barnett passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Mississippi Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be Monday, November 18 from 6:00 until 8:00 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and Tuesday, November 19 at 1:00 until the 2:00 funeral service at Hopewell Baptist Church in McCool, MS. Interment will follow at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Barnett was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, caring brother and uncle, and a treasured friend to many others. He is survived by his wife of 37 years that he lived for, Jean Barnett; his daughter and son in law Mike and Rebekah Alawine of Florence, MS; and his granddaughter, Michaela Alawine that was the light of his life who brought him 15 wonderful years of happiness. He was also survived by three sisters, Virginia Richardson of Angie, LA, Shirley Lawrence of Brandon, MS, and Mae Barnett of Raymond, MS; and many precious nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Thad Barnett; mother, Audra Barnett; and brother, Ed Barnett. Mr. Barnett loved his family and friends, but he loved his Lord above all. He found the good in every person. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
