Mr. Howard Malcolm Doty

Howard Malcolm Doty, 66, passed away Friday, August 17, 2018 at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be Monday, August 20th from 10:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. funeral service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Florence City Cemetery. Mr. Doty, a long-time resident of Florence attended Pinelake Church in Brandon. He was an Aviation Technician for the MS Air National Guard for over 40 years. He owned his own aircraft business for over 20 years. He was active with the Florence Area Men’s Association for several years. He coached baseball and softball with the Florence Youth Association. He spent time working on old cars and hotrods, enjoyed attending car shows, and was a member of the MS Antique Car Association. He played golf, enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved playing with his grandchildren. Mr. Doty is preceded in death by his parents, Irby and Dorothy Doty; and by his brother, Dennis Doty. He is survived by his wife of 43 years on August 16th, Cathy Doty of Florence; son, Nick Doty (Lisa) of Brandon; daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Roberts of Florence; brothers, Levi (Beverly) Doty of Kosciusko; sister, Rene (Richard) Boyle of Kosciusko and 4 grandchildren: Rigdon Reeves, Cameron Roberts, Ruby Cate Doty and Colbie Roberts.
