H.R. "Dick" Hodges, 83, went to be with Jesus on July 26, 2012 after a brief battle with Melanoma.\ \ He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Ann, and sons Richard (Kay) Hodges and Terry (Brenda) Hodges all of Terry. He also leaves behind brothers Joe and Warren, 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.\ \ Dick retired from the USAF as MSgt. after serving as a recruiter in the Jackson area. He also once owned the Western Auto in Terry and worked for years for the MS Dept. of Employment Security.\ \ He served as Deacon Chairman, S.S. Director, and on numerous committees at Midway Baptist and was an active member at FBC Terry. His carpentry skills were invaluable there and at home where he spent hours building beautiful birdhouses, recipe boxes, and things for his family and friends. He enjoyed working in his yard and vegetable garden and attending the Lion's Club.\ \ Visitation will be Fri. 5-7 at Chancellor in Byram and Sat. 10-11 at FBC Terry. Service will be at 11am on Sat. the 28th at FBC Terry. \ \ In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FBC Terry Building Fund.\ \
