Hulon Isaac Parrett, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024. He was born on April 27, 1934 to Daniel Ance Parrett and Chellie Mae Rutland Parrett. He led a full and rich life, marked by numerous accomplishments and cherished moments with family.
Hulon served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict. His dedication didn't stop there; he continued to serve in the Army National Guard, taking on active duty during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. His military service was a source of pride for him and exemplified his unwavering spirit of patriotism.
In addition to his military achievements, Hulon enjoyed a long and distinguished career in banking with Deposit Guaranty Bank, where he was well-respected by his colleagues and customers alike. His commitment to his work reflected his strong character and dedication to service, qualities that were evident throughout his life.
Hulon had a vibrant personality, characterized by his love for Country music and his nightly ritual of watching Wheel of Fortune. He derived joy from working puzzles, challenging himself and finding satisfaction in solving intricate problems. An avid gardener, he found peace and fulfillment in nurturing his plants, while also enjoying the simple pleasure of fishing in his spare time. Often referring to himself as a "Shade Tree" mechanic, he took great pride in working on cars when the opportunity presented itself, showcasing his resourcefulness and hands-on skills. He was a beloved member of Siwell Road Church of Christ.
His legacy continues through his loving family, which includes his wife, Annette Edwards Parrett, who stood by his side as they journeyed through life together. He is survived by his two sons, Mitchell Parrett and Dan Parrett both of Brookhaven, and two daughters, Vicki Page (Rick) of Decatur, AL, and Michelle Johnston (Bob) of Brookhaven. In addition, Hulon's memory will live on through his eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, who were a significant source of pride and happiness in his life.
Hulon Isaac Parrett will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved him. His life serves as a reminder of the importance of family, service, and pursuing one's passions with fervor.
