Inge Gerda Thibodeaux

Inge Gerda Thibodeaux passed away into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.  She was 88 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Glenwood Cemetery in Richland following the service.

Mrs. Inge was born to the late Erich and Charlotte Schottstaedt on November 11, 1934, in Berlin Germany and immigrated to the States in 1957 after marrying Adam Joseph Thibodeaux.  She lived in South Jackson until she moved to Florence in 1975.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Richland. Inge loved gardening, sewing, and quilting. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler. She enjoyed baking, making German desserts for everyone.

Inge is preceded in death by her daughter, Charlotte Gemaine Thibodeaux Powell; and brother, Karl- Heinz Schottstaedt.  She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Joe Thibodeaux of Florence; son, Eric Joe Thibodeaux (Kathy) of Richland; grandchildren, Tranny Adam Thibodeaux (Amanda) of Florence, and Monica Thibodeaux Ingram (Heath) of Florence; great grandchildren, Tatum Rae Thibodeaux of Florence, Ramsey Cade Ingram of Florence, Troupe Myles Thibodeaux of Florence, and Palmer Knox Ingram of Florence.
