Mr. Ira Robert "Doc" Holliday, Jr., 65 died on April 28, 2010 at his home. Visitation will be Thursday, April 29, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and Friday, 12 - 1 p.m. prior to the services at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Zion Hill Cemetery in Wesson, MS.\ \ A 1964 graduate of Provine High School, Mr. Holliday served in the National Guard from 1964 until 1970. He retired from 3M Company after 34 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Reno Hunting Club. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Florence.\ \ He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira Holliday, Sr., and Edith Holliday, his paternal grandparents, Ira Reynolds and Samuel Newton Holliday, Sr., maternal grandparents: Julia and James Miller and his step-mother, Virginia Rankin Holliday.\ \ He leaves behind his wife, Lynn Turnbo Holliday; sons: James Holliday and wife, Lacey, John Holliday and wife Pat all of Florence; sister, Margaret Holliday Pittman and husband Don of Jackson; sister-in-law, Elaine Hollier of Anchorage, Alaska; brother-in-laws: William Turnbo of Wesson and Horace E. Smith, Jr. of Thompson Station, TN; the loves of his life, his grandchildren, Cody, Tyler and Logan and also numerous friends and family.\ \ The family wishes to thank Dr. Marvin Jeter and Dr. Bobby Graham for their loving care.\ Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund-Florence, PO Box 97, Florence, MS 39073 or Hinds Community College Scholarship Foundation and Trinity Baptist Church.\
