Mr. J. T. Moore Jr

Mr. J.T. “Butch” Moore, Jr., 67, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013 at his home in Jackson. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Magnolia Cemetery in Charleston, MS. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Mr. Moore was born August 24, 1946 in Benton, MS to the late J.T. and Rebecca Pierce Moore. He was a Retiree of the US Navy and a member of Living Faith Baptist Church in Pearl. Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Rebecca Swatling and Mary Virginia Dement, and brother, Buford Moore. He is survived by his wife, Carey Moore of Jackson; son, J.T. “Butch” Moore III (Kathleen) of Florence; daughter, Hope Bennett of Florence; sisters, Terri Stroud (Milton) of Jackson and Jeanette Miller of Jackson; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; special niece, Pam Thornton (Charlie) of Pinola; and special neighbor, Djuana Dwight Tia Gaines. The family would like to say a special thank you to Helen Graham, who took care of us and acted as our second mother. We will never be able to express how important you are to us.
