Mr. J.V. "Jim" Whatley

J.V. (Jim) Whatley, 79, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014 at VA Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be 11am-1pm Friday, November 14, 2014 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Graveside services will follow at Natchez Trace Cemetery in Madison at 2pm Friday. Mr. Whatley was born and raised in Lucedale, MS to the late Jeff Whatley and Lela Viola Cooley Whatley. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and worked as a Carpenter/Electrician in the construction industry. Mr. Whatley was a member of First Baptist Church Byram. He is preceded in death by his daughter Verna Jean. Survivors include his wife Sandra Whatley of Richland; son DeLane Ansley (Holly) of Richland; daughter Donna Smith (Jim) of Florence; brothers Jack Whatley of Corvina, CA, Joe Whatley of Pearl and Billy Whatley (Julie) of Sims, AL; sister Nettie Jean Irwin (David) of Heidelburg, MS; grandchildren Dalton Smith, Hailee & Carsen Ansley and a number of nieces & nephews
