Jack M. Coulson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and dedicated public servant, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024, in Terry, Mississippi, at the age of 70. Born on June 8, 1954, in Abilene, Texas to Jack Leonard Coulson and Ruth Lacour Coulson.
Jack led a life characterized by his unwavering commitment to helping others and his extensive career in law enforcement and aviation. He worked as a police officer, during which he was a proud member of the Pistol Team with the Jackson Police Department. Beyond his commitment to public safety, he was also a private pilot, showcasing his adventurous spirit and love for flying. His professional life was marked not only by his roles but also by his deep-seated dedication to the community he served.
As an entrepreneur, Jack owned Capt'n Jack's Hot Shots in Byram, where he combined his business acumen with his desire to give back to those in need. He held numerous fundraisers and events aimed at supporting those who were sick or struggling, exemplifying his caring nature and his belief in the importance of service to others. Jack's generous spirit and willingness to lend a hand will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jack was also a proud Shriner and a Mason, sharing in a brotherhood that strengthened his dedication to philanthropy and community service. His many achievements were fueled by a heart that always sought to do for others. His character and contributions to his family and community will forever be remembered, and his legacy of compassion and service will continue to inspire those he touched during his lifetime.
A passionate golfer, Jack found joy in the game and cherished the moments spent on the course, whether in competition or leisure.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Susan Coulson; sons, Keith Coulson (Melanie) and Brian Coulson (Tabatha); and his daughter, Amy Strong (Rob), who will carry his legacy forward with the values he instilled in them.
