Jacob A. Moak, lovingly known as Jakie to family and friends, passed away on June 25th, 2023 at the age of 83. He was born in Norfield, MS on April 2nd, 1940 to Ray Moak and Selena Polk.
Jakie was a skilled electrician and proud member of the IBEW 480 for many years. He enjoyed his work and took great pride in providing for his family. In addition to his career, Jakie had a passion for spending time with loved ones. During his retirement years, Jakie enjoyed repairing small engines which brought him joy as he tinkered in his workshop.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Frances Moak and a daughter, Sandy Moak. He is survived by two sons: Jason Moak (Crystal) of Jackson and Greg Moak (Valerie) of Ridgeland. Along with his sons, he leaves behind, four grandchildren: Bethany Moak, Jared Moak (Nikki), Katie Gravitt, and Abigail Burkes; and his great-grandchild Asher Moak. He is also survived by his sister Betty Sandifer of Brookhaven.
There will be a visitation held at Chancellor Funeral Home of Byram, Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 9:00 am -10:00 am, with a Funeral Service at 10:00 am. Interment will follow the service at Lakewood South Memorial Park in Jackson.
