Mr. James "Bay" Edward Thornton

James Edward “Bay” Thornton, 60 went to his heavenly home surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 30th from 5-8 p.m. and Thursday, December 31st from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. Funeral Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories. Bay loved his wife, children, his grandchildren and his dog, Jack. He was also passionate about hunting and enjoyed working. Bay was preceded in death by his parents, Buddy and Patsy Thornton of Brandon; son, Jeffery Thornton; Grandson, C.W. McPhail; great granddaughter, Serenity McPhail; sister, Jenny Thornton; mother-in-law and stepfather-in-law, Betty and Larry Lamb; and father-in-law, Jesse Joiner. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Robbie Thornton of Florence; son, Jamie (Sissy) Thornton of Ridgeland; daughter, Christi (Kenny) Livingston of Pearl; brothers, Raymond (Ann) Thornton of Pearl, Charles (Sue) Thornton of Durant, Billy Guy (Deb) Thornton of Missouri; sister, Annie Thornton of Pearl; grandchildren, Hunter Livingston, Payton Livingston, Brittany McPhail and Krysta McLeod; great grandchildren, Shiloh Graves and Trinity Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews and hunting buddies.
