James "Jimmy" Bishop, a beloved member of the Pearl community and a devoted family man, passed away January 16, 2025, he was surrounded by family, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. Born on June 1, 1965, to Hubart Lamar Bishop and Vera Pearl Wilcher in Jackson, MS.
Jimmy was a well-respected business owner, operating Bishop’s High Velocity Drain Service for 25 years, where he proudly serviced all across the MS area. His dedication to his work reflected his commitment to his community, earning him admiration from those who benefited from his services.
A true enthusiast, Jimmy had a passion for cars, often participating in local car shows, where he showcased his talents and love for the automotive world. He achieved recognition for his efforts, winning trophies on multiple occasions, which brought him great joy and pride.
At the heart of Jimmy’s life was his family. He was a devoted husband to Becky, whom he loved whole heartedly. He cherished time spent with his two daughters, Heather and Holly. Lastly, he considered his granddaughters, Harper and Lilly, the center of his world.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Lynn Bishop; his two daughters, Heather Bauer (Matt) of Denver, Colorado, and Holly Bishop of Brandon, Mississippi; his precious granddaughters, Harper Bauer and Lilly Pugh; his brother, Walter "Buster" Bishop (Deborah) of Pearl, Mississippi; and his sister, Willie Patterson of Pearl, Mississippi, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Though he has left this world, Jimmy’s legacy will endure in the hearts of those he loved and in the community he cherished. His spirit will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
