James L. Comer, a resident of Brandon, MS passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 at his home. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 20th from 10:00 to 11:00 with the funeral service immediately following at Lakeshore Congregational Methodist Church in Byram, MS. Graveside will be at 1:30 at Lakeland Place, Garden Park Cemetery in Brandon, MS. James L. Comer was born June 25, 1947 in Page County, Virginia to Elwood and Margaret Comer. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn W. Comer, formerly of Woodville, MS, and son Scott Comer (Lisa); grand-children, Mackenzie Comer and Brody Comer; two sisters, Bonnie Owens and Betty (Mike) Burrill; and numerous nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne Comer and Elwood Jr. Comer; sister Sharon Jenkins; and his parents, Elwood and Margaret Comer. James served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. After his service in the Army, James worked for P&M Manufacturing Company Plumbing Specialties, as a regional sales manager for the remainder of his career. He was a member of Lakeshore Congressional Methodist Church in Byram MS. James was an avid fisherman, fishing many tournaments with his son Scott, over the years.
