James Copeland

Mr. James Calvin Copeland, Jr., 39, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011 in Florida. Visitation will be Friday, October 7, 2011 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence from 11 a.m. until the 2:30 p.m. service in the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Glenwood Memorial Park in Richland. \ \ Mr. Copeland lived most of his life in Florence before moving to Florida 3 years ago where he was a stay at home dad, a student at George Stone Vocational Education, and a member of Midway Baptist Church in Gulf Breeze, FL. He graduated from Florence High School in 1990 then attended and graduated from MS Law Enforcement Training Academy. He was a law enforcement officer for 16 years with MS Dept of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks, most of the years covering Rankin County and last was First Lieutenant over Communications. \ \ He is survived by his parents, James, Sr. and Carol Copeland of Lewisburg, TN; his wife of 15 years, Dr. Lynn Barlow Copeland of Gulf Breese, FL; his son, Hart Copeland of Gulf Breeze, FL; sisters, Stacey (Steve) Crake of Thailand, Robin (Danny) Shelton of Philadelphia, Rene Morris of Florence, and Billie (Walter) Burt of Florence; and numerous Nieces and Nephews.\
