James Flynn Cross

James Flynn Cross passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, in Madison, MS. He was 79 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:30-8:00 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2024, and again on Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. The Celebration of Life will follow at 10:00 a.m.

James was born on April 28, 1944, to Hansell and Mary Cross in Alexandria, LA. He was raised mostly in Georgia and Louisiana and spent 45 years in Conyers, GA. He has lived the past six months in Madison. James enlisted at a very early age and served in the United States Navy. He also served 14 years with the United States Postal Service. James loved the outdoors, mountains, and trout fishing. He enjoyed feeding the deer in the backyard every day. James loved his son, family, and his mini dachshund, Tootsie.

James is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Mary Belle Badeaux. He is survived by his son, Flynn Cross (Tracey) of Madison; grandchildren, Brittany Tucker (Anthony), Sumerlyn Rodgers (Josh), Collin Cross, Jeremy McMillon (Lanee), and Ethan McMillon (Breanna); great grandchildren, Grayson, Gavin, Shelby, Valerie, Noah, and Harliegh; sister, Pam Griffin of Conyers, GA; nieces, Robin Wright, and Lori Badeaux; nephew, Ralph Badeaux; and great nephew, Garrett Wright.
