James Byron Cummins, 78, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, March 28, 2015. Visitation will be 5:00pm-7:00pm Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Funeral Service will be Friday at 10:00am with a visitation one hour prior to the service at Country Woods Baptist Church, Byram, MS. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park South. James was born November 1, 1936. He graduated from Central High School in Jackson. He was a member of Country Woods Baptist Church and a long time member of Van Winkle Baptist Church. He retired as a salesman from Nabisco. He was known in the neighborhood as the cookie man by all the children and they knew where they could always come to get cookies. He was a very generous man and was always ready to help those in need. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jim Cummins, his father and mother, Victor & Mae Cummins, brother, Lee Cummins, 2 sisters, Christine Hawkins and Jeanine Stubbs. He is survived by his wife Mary. They were married for 58 years, 2 sons Jay (Donna) of Flowood, Rob of Texas, 3 grandsons Nathan, Chris and Joshua, several nephews, nieces and many dear and precious friends.
