James Oakley Elliott, 81, went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, July 05, 2012. He was at home with Family and his loyal dog, Boomer. Visitation will be Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence from 12:00 Noon until the 2:00 PM service. Burial will follow in Glenwood Memorial Park.\ \ Mr. Elliott was retired from healthcare Supplies where he was regional Manager for many years. He was a 1953 Graduate of Mississippi State University and a member of the Alumni, "He loved his Mississippi State Bulldogs", a 1957 Graduate of the Air Force Academy, and a 1976 Graduate of Mississippi College where he completed his Masters. \ \ He was a member of First Baptist Church of Richland where he taught Sunday School for many years. The family would also like to say Thank You to the Senior Adults Sunday School. Thank you for your kindness, your visits, and your love. \ \ Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Alice Elliott; parents, three sisters and a grandson. He is survived by a brother, Carlie Elliott (Louise) of Quitman; daughters, Terri Lindsey (James) and Tracy Horner of Florence; sons, George, David and Bob Strack all of Hattiesburg and Wes Strack of Florence; 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren/.\ \ In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund at FBC Richland or your favorite charity.\
