Mr. James "Jim" Alland Gibson

James “Jim” Alland Gibson, 85, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018 at his home in Jackson. Visitation will be 9am until the 11am funeral service Friday, September 21, 2018 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Lakewood South. Mr. Gibson was born in Illinois to the late James E. Gibson and Ethel Combs Gibson. A longtime resident of Jackson, Mr. Gibson liked working on TV’s and playing on the computer. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and attended Daniel Memorial Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 siblings, Steve Gibson, Helen Legg and Madalyn Gibson. Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Phyllis Laird Gibson of Jackson; sons, Randy Gibson (Lisa) of New Mexico and Tim Asher (Becky) of Indiana; daughters, Penelope “Penny” Archers (Jimmy) of New Mexico, Kandi Overstreet of New Mexico, Vicki Braun of Texas and Jennefer Luke (Thomas) of Byram; brother, Harold Gibson; sisters Bessie Sullivan, Audrey Dobbs, Ginny Champion, Sandy McDaniel and Ruth Richardville; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
