James “Jim” E. Hudson passed into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. He was 83 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, December 11th from 1:00 p.m. until the 3:00 p.m. Funeral Service all at New Zion Baptist Church, 275 Andrews Road, Braxton, MS 39044. Burial will follow at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Braxton. Jim was born August 17, 1938 to the late Elmer and Mary Hudson in Jackson, MS. He was raised in Clinton and was a graduate of Clinton High School in 1956. He moved to Braxton 22 years ago where he was a member and of New Zion Baptist Church and also served as a Deacon. He retired from Blue Cross/ Blue Shield after 25 years as a Maintenance supervisor. He was a member of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society. Jim had a great sense of humor and in his spare time, he loved hunting and bird watching and he was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints and MSU. Along with his parents, Jim is also preceded in death by his first wife, Terah Hudson. He is survived by his wife of 4 years, Sharon Rice Hudson of Braxton; daughter, Penny Lewis (Glenn) Jones of Brandon; son, Alan (Regina) Hudson of Cato; grandchildren, Kalei (Sam) Lewis Martinez, Jamie (Jessica) Hudson, and Casey Hudson; and great grandchildren, Kaiden Hudson and Lane Hudson.
