James “Jim” Marvin Stewart, 83 passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021 at his home in Florence, MS. There will be a family led Memorial Service at Briar Hill Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation from 1:00 – 2:00 at the church. Burial will follow at Briar Hill Cemetery. Jim was born September 7, 1937 in Laurel, MS to the late John Wesley and Lucile Stewart. He was the owner and operator of Stewart’s Cakes for decades and was very proud of his business. He was a Veteran who served his county in the U.S. Airforce. A hard worker, he proudly pushed mowed his large yard until about 2 years ago when he became unable. He enjoyed playing golf and watching his Westerns, he especially loved John Wayne. Jim loved his children and grandchildren. Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Anita Stewart; his sister, Mary Aycock; and his brothers, Joe Stewart and John Stewart, Jr. He is survived by his daughters, Lisa (Mike) Jones of Florence and Leslie (Mike) Stoufer of Florence; brother, Charles (Brenda) Stewart of Meridian; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
