Mr. James "Jim" L. Watkins

James “Jim” L. Watkins,75, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be 5-7pm Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Funeral services will be 11am Monday, February 24, 2014 in the funeral home chapel followed by interment at Lakewood Memorial Park. Mr. Watkins was born in Jackson, Ms to the late Wilburn Lyle Watkins and Juanita Daniels Watkins. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked with Lanier Business Products for 30 years as service manager. Mr. Watkins was a member of First Baptist Church of Byram and a longtime member of Woodville Heights Baptist Church where he served as deacon. Survivors include his wife of 53 years Margaret Watkins of Byram; son James L. “Bubba” Watkins, Jr. of Pearl; daughter Jackie (Robert) Hughes of Clinton; grandchildren Jason Perrett (Christi) of Byram, Jordan Douglas of Jackson, Joshua Douglas of Jackson and Christopher (Becca) Watkins of Clinton; great grandchildren Lane Perrett of Byram, Cameron Watkins of Milton, FL, Cydnee Watkins of Clinton and Ruby Anne Murphy of Clinton.
