James Edward “Jimmy” Robbins, 80, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Brandon Nursing and Rehab in Brandon. Visitation will be Thursday, June 21st from 5-7p.m. and Friday, June 22nd from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Richland City Cemetery. Mr. Robbins, an award winning High School Basketball player, retired from Greyhound Bus Lines. He loved hunting and fishing and was a talented musician who was passionate about playing his guitar and was a great piano player as well. He enjoyed watching the Ole Miss Rebels and the New Orleans Saints play. Mr. Robbins is preceded in death by his parents, Hiram and Oma Robbins; brother, Vernie Robbins and his granddaughter, Judy R. Riley. He is survived by his wife, Johnnie Robbins of Richland; son, David Edward Robbins of Hattiesburg; daughters, Deborah (James) Posey of Saltillo, MS, Jennifer (Brian) Reed, of Richland, MS and Lorrie Smith of Florence, MS; sister, Madelyn Tew of Richland; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
