James (Jimmy) Henry Lee, died peacefully at the age of 84. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Lee, Sr. and Odell Lee; special stepmother Alma Lee; and his two sisters Betty Allen Roberts and Mary Evelyn Burnham.
Mr. Lee is survived by the love of his life of 58 years, wife Joyce Kaye Dortch Lee, his son, Jeffrey Michael Lee (Carol); daughter, Jodi Lee Hodge (Dallas). He was a blessed grandfather of his granddaughter Jessica Malone, great-grandfather to Trey Landry and Levi Messer, and bonus grandchildren that loved him dearly. He was also survived by his brothers, Wayne Lee, Jr., and Bobby Lee. There were also three precious fur babies that he loved, Barker, Katy, and Harley. He was a blessed with many nieces and nephews he loved very much.
James Henry Lee was born on February 2, 1940, in Jackson, Mississippi, and moved to his home in Richland, Mississippi in 1976. He graduated from Provine High School in 1960 and was also a graduate of Hinds Community College where he recieved an associates degree. Jimmy was employed by Illinois Central Railroad and for the State of Mississippi. He enjoyed country western dancing, watching his kids play baseball and softball growing up, loved going out to eat with his family, and loved playing on his computer. He loved all his family, friends and loved leaving his marks on everyone that he met. Jimmy's family and friends remember him as a kind, gentle, patient, brave and the most courageous loving man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Primitive Baptist Church in Pearl, MS, on April the 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. hour of service with Dr. David Pyles officiating. In his final days he was surrounded by loved ones.
The family would like to thank all the professional caregivers for their efforts, care, and dedication. Thank you, Dr. Murphy Martin, Amy his nurse, and Dr. Amanda Scheifer for taking such great care of this sweet man Jimmy.
