LTC James Clark Norman USA Retired, born November 05, 1937 in Marietta Georgia, died January 16, 2022 in Ridgeland, MS. Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Katie Lynn Boone Norman; his parents, LTC John Anderson Norman Sr. and Katherine Childress Norman; and his brother, LTJG John A Norman, Jr. He is survived by two nieces, three nephews, and several cousins. Jim attended Central High and Murrah High Schools in Jackson, Mississippi; Hinds Jr. College in Raymond, MS; and Mississippi State University in Starkville, Mississippi. He spent 32 years in military service, graduating from Army Infantry OCS, the Army Transportation School, and the Command and General Staff School. He received the Expert Marksman and Master army Aviator Badges as both a fixed and rotary wing pilot, logging over 2,700 hours of flight time. He was a past commander of the 148 Transportation company, Mississippi National Guard. Jim’s civilian career was with the AT&T/Bell System for 30 years, retiring in 1991.
