Mr. James "Jim" Powell

Mr. James “Jim” Powell, 74 passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the VA Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be Thursday, May 8th at 10:00AM followed by funeral at 12:00PM at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Mr. Powell was a member of Marvin United Methodist Church. He was a “people person” who enjoyed Southern Mississippi Football, re-enacting the Civil War, reading the Bible and fishing. He loved his family and wildlife. Mr. Powell is preceded in death by his grandson, Thomas Brian Donald. He is survived by his wife, Vivian Powell of Florence; son, Rodney Lovejoy of Flower Mound, TX; Daughters, Marilyn (Bobby) Fewell of Byram, Sarah Carpenter of Florence, Sharon (Randy) Donald of Pearl; brother, Zeke (Bonnie) Powell; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren
