James Raines

James Earl Raines a longtime resident of Florence lost his battle with cancer on September 18,2008 at his home. Jimmy was born in Redwood, MS to the late William and Edna Raines on December 2, 1941. Although he left Mississippi for a time, he returned in 1964 to spend the rest of his life. His job as a boilermaker/welder kept him on the road most of the time, but he always called Mississippi "Home."\ \ Jimmy is survived by his wife Annabelle Raines; daughter, Myria Maria Raines of Florence; son, James Larry Raines of Florence; Children that he took into his heart as his own, Jean, Debra, Ryan, Thomas, Didi and Tara; Sisters: Debra Kay Burkes and Ava Lee Nodell; Brothers: Thomas Raines, Charles Raines and Tommy Boggan; Grand-daughers: Savannah and Kayla Raines; Great-granddaugher, Addy and 13 step-grandchildren.\ \ Memorial Service will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home Florence, MS on Thursday, September, 25 at 3:00pm.
