James Carroll Roberson, 76, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Jaquith Nursing Home. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 18th in the chapel of Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS with visitation one-hour prior. The services will conclude in the Garden of Memories with a graveside service immediately following the funeral. Rev. Ted Weeks will officiate. Mr. Roberson was born in Eudora, Arkansas on November 7, 1942 to the late Jessie James Roberson and Elma Marie Howard. He lived most of his life in Columbus, MS before making Richland his home almost 20 years ago where he was a member of First Baptist Church of Richland. He worked for United Technologies for over 30 years as an Inspector before retiring. Mr. Roberson served his country as a U.S. Marine, serving out of California. He adored his family and enjoyed fishing, camping and going to flea markets. Along with his parents, Mr. Roberson is also preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Wayne Roberson. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Dot Miles Parkman Roberson of Richland; daughters, Becky Roberson of Columbus, Teresa Roberson Bawa (Mo) of Columbus, Lynn Anderson (Jimmy) of Madison, and Vickey Parkman Copeland of Brandon; son, Danny Miles (Elaine) of Chapel Hill, NC; sister, Judy Beall of Columbus; 25 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
