James Arnold Skinner,79, passed away on August 1, 2024, in Byram, MS. He was born on May 1, 1945, in Jackson, MS to his loving parents, John Skinner and Billie Moore Skinner.
James was very religious. He had read his bible 8 times. He found solace in reading the Bible. He would tell you about it if you asked. He went to the holy land 2 years ago and was baptized in the Jordan River. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Byram.
Throughout his life, James excelled in his career as a Communication Technician, showcasing a passion for his work that inspired those around him. He started the CB Shop 48 years ago and was well known around the CB world.
Beyond his achievements, James was a man of many interests. He spent peaceful days fishing by the water's edge, delighted in using metal detectors to unearth hidden treasures. He enjoyed civil war relic hunting and rock hunting. He enjoyed working in his yard and other’s yards as well, keeping the neighborhood looking nice. He enjoyed making windmills and giving them away.
Family meant everything to James. He shared a deep bond with his son and cherished moments spent with his grandchild and great grandchildren. James was a pillar of strength and support for his family members, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer words of wisdom. He never met a stranger.
James is survived by his son Jared Skinner, and grandchild, Hope Roberts; great grandchildren, Lilly Skinner, Jillian Roberts, and Justin Roberts Jr.
A visitation for James Arnold Skinner will be held on August 10, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Byram. Following the visitation, the Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM with a Graveside following the service at First Baptist Church of Byram Cemetery.
