James Noble White

James “Sonny” Noble White went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at his home in Florence, MS. He was 86 years old. The family will receive friends and extended family for visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. The memorial service will follow at 11:00.

Sonny was born on April 9, 1938, to Noble White and Monell Porter White in Natchez, MS. He lived in Florence and was a member of Wynndale Baptist Church in Terry. Sonny was a true outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing for bass and bream at Dougal Bottom Lake at the deer camp. He was an excellent drywall contractor and had a wonderful work ethic and a great reputation. Sonny was a wonderful husband, son, father, friend, and he loved his family immensely. If they were happy, he was happy. Sonny was never shy in giving to those in need. He never wanted praise from it, he was the Lord’s servant and shared his faith through his actions. To know Mr. Sonny was to love him. He will truly be missed.

Sonny is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Jakki Mozola, Margie Grantham, and Maggie Levy. He is survived by the love of his life of 67 years, his wife, Faye White of Florence; children, Michael White (Klaire) of Tyler, TX, Debbie Taylor (Jackie) of Florence, MS; grandchildren, Andrew White, Grace White (Steve Grossman), Mitchell White, Katie Wray, and Jake Taylor; sister, Shelia Graff of Covington, LA; and great grandchildren, Libby Wray, and Anna Lawson Wray.
