Janet Carol Abt, 51, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013 at UMC in Jackson. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014 at McLaurin Heights Baptist Church 404 Pemberton Dr. Pearl, MS. Janet was born in Lockport, NY to the late Norman Phillip Abt and Marion Ellen Welsh Abt. She loved to dance, had a crazy laugh and never met a stranger. She sat with the elderly, worked in management at Old Time Deli, Sonic and Bumper Restaurants and taught Sunday School when her children were little. Janet was a member of McLaurin Heights Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; grandson Travis Dylan Abt; brothers Norman Phillip Abt, Jr. and David Alan Abt. Survivors include her daughter Christie Michelle Lungrin of Monroe, LA; son, John Abt (Leslie) of Brandon; daughter Millie Rebecca “Becky” Jane Abt of Pearl; brothers and sisters, Charles Abt of New York, Donna Cotten of Sallas, MS, James Abt of TX, Bobby Abt of TX, Arnie Abt of Romance, AR, John Abt of LaPlace, LA and Betty Bailey of Byram; grandchildren, Jeanette Monique Abt, Chase Johnson, Joseph Johnson, Corey Lungrin, Reagan Lungrin, Addison Johnson, Lacey Johnson, Chloe Johnson, John Phillip Abt, Jr. and Henry Isaac Abt.
