Janie Ruth Grantham Addison, 86, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in Plano, TX. Visitation will be 5-8pm Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services will be 11am Wednesday, March 28 in the funeral home chapel with visitation one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. Janie was born in Lexington, MS to the late William Ellery Grantham and Lyda Myrinda Grantham. She lived in Plano, TX for the last 23 years having come from the Jackson, MS area. Janie loved flowers, gardening and making crafts. She retired from the City of Jackson where she worked with senior citizens. Her hobby was shopping and she loved classic country music. Her favorite color was pink and her favorite flower was pink roses. She enjoyed the show “Arrow” and loved to spend time with her grand-dogs Max and Winston. She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Max Grant Addison; sisters, Leona McGraw, Adele Hawkins and Olivia Chisolm; brothers, W.E. Grantham and Ellis Grantham. Survivors include her daughter, Rhonda Addison of Plano, TX; son, Douglas Addison (Frances) of Richland, MS; brother, Bobby Grantham (Pat) of Braxton, MS; sister, Eleese Addison of Terry, MS; five grandchildren, Jerry Sayers of Jackson, MS, James Sayers of Shreveport, LA, Donnie Sayers of Nashville, TN, Billy Addison of Denver, CO and Ronnie Addison of Richland, MS; nine great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
