Janis Watts Travirca, 81, passed away on Sunday, August 16 at Pleasant Hills Community Living Center. No services are scheduled at this time. Mrs. Travirca was born to Manson Watts and Gracie Sanford Watts on November 15, 1938 in Columbia, MS. Janis was an excellent seamstress. She also loved fishing, painting, woodworking, and making jewelry. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Travirca; brothers, Huston Watts, J.L. Watts, and Juston Watts; and sisters, Lillie Haddox and Bonnylin Lightsey. She is survived by her daughters, Janlyn (Lynn) Ray of Terry and Deveon (Jimmie) Sudduth of Steens; sister, Betty (Darrell) Pierce of Columbia; granddaughter, Savanah (Daniel) Perry; two great-grandchildren, Eley and Louisa Perry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
