Mr. Jasper Leland May

Mr. Jasper Leland May, 86, of Richland, MS passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018. There will be a visitation on Monday, August 13, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday and will be preceded by a visitation from 9:00-10:00 AM. Interment will be at Cooks Chapel Cemetery in Philadelphia, MS at 2:00 PM on Tuesday. Mr. May retired from the Mississippi State Board of Health and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and travelling. He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Sammie May; parents, Jesse and Moreen May; three sons, Eugene, Billy, and James Darwin May; and two brothers, J.O. and Sam May. He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Richland, MS; a daughter, Debbie (Carlos) Prevost of Clinton, MS; three step-sons, Grady Gipson, Steve (Alissa) Gipson, and Anthony (Jamie) Gipson all of Florence, MS; grandchildren, Zak (Jennifer) Prevost , Devin, Drew, Shelley, Mallory, Brooklyn, and Anna Gipson, and Cathy (Guy) Martin; great grandchildren, Taylor and Morgan Martin, and Emmarie Prevost.
