Jay Q. Bearden

Jay Q. Bearden passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at his home in Richland, MS. He was 79 years old. Just one week and six days shy of his 80^th birthday. The family will receive friends for visitation from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence.

Jay was born on September 9, 1943, to James and Ethel Mae Bearden in Corinth, MS. He has lived in Richland since 1986. He has been the owner and operator of Jay Bearden Construction Inc. for 34 plus years.

Mr. Bearden is survived by his wife of 34 years, Shirley Easterling Bearden of Richland; sons, Keith Bearden (Cindy) of Florence, and Jason Bearden of Biloxi; daughter Darlene Ham of Corinth, MS; stepchildren, Paula Poplin (Harry) of Greenville, SC and Paul Jones of Philadelphia, MS; sister, Edith English (Wilson) of Booneville, MS; grandchildren, Michael Ross, Jackson Bearden, Kristy Schmitt, and Jennifer Bearden; great grandchildren, Abbie Kitchens, Bryle Schmitt, Aiden Schmitt, and Braxton Ross.

The family has requested that there be no flowers.
