Jeanette Mitchell Smith went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 24, 2023, in Jackson, MS. She was 73 years old. The family will receive extended family and friends for visitation from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. There will be a graveside service to follow at 12:30 p.m. at Clear Branch Cemetery in Florence. MS.

Jeanette was born on August 31, 1950, to Frank Gates Mitchell and Ora Smith Mitchell in Jackson, MS. She has lived in Florence for the past 30 years where she was a member of Clear Branch Baptist Church. Jeanette retired from BellSouth where she was an operator. She enjoyed painting, sewing, and cross stitching. But most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents; and 2 brothers, Gary Mitchell, and Carroll Mitchell. She is survived by her daughters, Jackie Evans (Shannon) and Kay Watson, both of Florence, MS; 6 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
